Ribbon Board Tutorial

Ribbon Board Tutorial: My first tutorial ever

What: Ribbon Board to hold bows, envelopes, etc.

Why: Quick, cheap gift ($10 or less).

Perfect for baby showers to clip on girl's hair bows

Time: Less than 20 minutes

Above: pic of rectangular shape ribbon board I recently made for Noelle

This tutorial is how to make a SQUARE board (RED example)

Supplies:

18x18 inch canvas (Boards can be made with any size canvas)
21x21 inch piece of fabric
Four 25x3/8'' strips of ribbon (any width will works)

Stapler or staple gun (I use a regular desk stapler cause it's all I have)

Step 1: Lay fabric right side down on flat surface. Place canvas in center, front side down.

Step 2: Fold up one entire side of fabric and staple approx 1 inch apart across bottom. Staple the opposite side in the same manner.

Step 3: Fold all four corners in triangle shape. Secure with a staple. Fold up the remaining two sides and staple. *There is no wrong way to do the corners, just make sure the corners look good from the front. You could also make it look like a mitered corner.

Step 4: Ribbon! Mark the middle point of your board on the top and bottom sides (this marks the center where you will staple the ribbon).

Step 5: Begin attaching the ribbon, checking to make sure it looks good from the front. Run one piece of ribbon from the top-corner to the bottom middle point and secure on back side of board. Continue attaching ribbon in the same fashion.

The ribbon will be secured about 1-2 cm. from the center point in order to have it cross perfectly in the front.

*There are lots of different patterns you can choose for the ribbon. Have fun with it!

Longest week(end) of my life

We had quite a weekend babysitting the Stewart's three boys while they went to NY. Lets just say I survived! Some highlights were:
1. Rob getting peed on
2. Daylight savings...the kids waking up at 4am
3. Stake conference (enough said)

Needless to say...I'm not ready for parenthood. But it was sure fun to see how good Rob is with kids. He is going to be a great dad and I'm so glad he was there to help me. Meanwhile, I am so tired I can hardly walk.
